B.M.S. College of Engineering: Pioneer of Private Engineering in India
B.M.S. College of Engineering (BMSCE), Bengaluru, established in 1946, holds the distinguished honour of being the first private Engineering College in India. Founded by the visionary late Sri. B.M. Sreenivasaiah and later nurtured by his son late Sri. B.S. Narayan, the institution has carried forward a legacy of excellence that continues to this day under its dedicated management.
Starting with just 3 courses, BMSCE today offers 18 undergraduate and 13 postgraduate programs, with 15 departments recognized as research centres offering doctoral degrees. The college has also been awarded a prestigious 5G Use Case Laboratory by the Government of India — one of only 100 higher education institutions in the country to receive this honour.
BMSCE recently achieved the ISO 14001:2015 certification for its Environmental Management System, reflecting its strong commitment to sustainability and eco-conscious practices.
